The “Mother of all Caves”…Actun Loch Tunichi! Start with a vigorous walk up to the cave on the Maya Mountain. The edge of the sink hole sits about 300 feet above the basin 200 feet above the forest canopy. Our fully trained guides rig a system of rappelling ropes to descend to the basin. The first ten feet provide the adrenaline the next 200 feet provides an unforgettable experience. You can’t see the bottom from where you start. You enjoy a nice picnic at the bottom. To get out you use a latter, climb rocks and sweat a lot. Then relief is on the way back at the lodge with a cold drink.
Mandatory Clothing: Comfortable light weight shorts and shirt that allow movement and can get wet. Well treaded sneakers or hiking boots and mosquito repellent. Water shoes or TEVAS are not allowed for safety reasons.
